Today’s reckoning is woven around Fehu ᚠ, the rune of wealth, cattle, and the beginning of prosperity. In the oldest Germanic world, wealth did not begin as coins. It began with the living things that fed, clothed, and sustained a people. Fehu reminds us that every fortune has an origin.

We are also in the last quarter of Heyannir (Hay Month). The fields are no longer simply growing. They are becoming stores of future wealth. Hay is gathered. Grain is ripening. Prosperity is beginning to take visible form through labor.

This story enters at that exact moment.

A mysterious tool promises limitless abundance, but no one is yet strong enough to bring its power into the world. Tomorrow, that changes.

I’m Giles Charlé, the maker behind Galdorcraft Calendars. What began as an attempt to understand old calendars more clearly became a larger project: reconstructing them in a form that can actually be used. Galdorcraft is about making those systems legible again—not as museum pieces, but as working calendars you can hold, read, and return to year after year. The Daily Reckoning grew out of that same work. Each day I follow where we stand within the larger cycle: the rune, moon, lunar month, season, year, historical calendar markers, and the stories that belong to that particular place in time.
